Our Mission

At Okanagan Sikh Academy, our mission is to shape the leaders of tomorrow through the teachings of our Sikh Gurus and a deep connection to the Punjabi language, culture, and values. Founded with the vision of creating a generation of strong, principled Sikh role models, our academy strives to inspire students to lead lives grounded in sewa (selfless service), simran (meditation on the Divine), and sarbat da bhala (well-being of all).

Our journey began with the guidance of the Sikh Gurus, whose timeless teachings of equality, humility, and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. We emphasize the importance of Gurbani, helping students understand and live by the values taught by Guru Nanak and the ten Gurus, fostering leadership that is driven by integrity, kindness, and a sense of responsibility to serve others.

By teaching Punjabi, we not only preserve our rich heritage but also empower our students to engage deeply with Sikh scripture and philosophy. Our goal is to help them develop a profound connection to their roots while embracing their roles as future leaders who will make a positive impact on the world around them.
